Kaigo Beauty Institute to Hold Limited-Time Campus Campaign Across 6 Schools (June 8–30), Featuring Elderly Experience Program

Kaigo Beauty Institute, a vocational school for beauty professionals serving the elderly operated by Mirai Project Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Satoshi Yamagiwa), is launching a limited-time program, 'Hand-Free Elderly Beauty Petit Experience Sessions: Discover Why Beauty in Care Delights the Elderly!' across six schools nationwide (Tokyo, Yokohama, Omiya, Nagoya, Umeda, and Fukuoka).

Over its 10 years of operation, the Kaigo Beauty Institute has cultivated more than just makeup and nail techniques; it has developed an approach of 'standing from the same perspective as the elderly and connecting through the heart.' This trial session was planned to help individuals realize that even beginners can take their first steps toward becoming professionals who bring smiles to those in front of them.

[Background of the Initiative]
Many students at the Kaigo Beauty Institute come without experience in care or beauty. While many enroll with a desire to 'be useful to the elderly' or 'do work that makes the person in front of me smile,' the institute observed that those without experience often struggle to imagine how the elderly actually feel.

Physical sensations—such as stiff joints, difficulty lifting arms, or being easily fatigued—are difficult to understand conceptually. The institute planned this experience session to help participants understand the necessity of beauty in care through their own physical experience.

[Content of the Trial Session]
For the first 10-15 minutes, participants will wear an elderly simulation set (including a weighted vest, wrist and ankle weights, and thick gloves) to mimic the physical condition of the elderly. By performing tasks like applying eyeshadow while wearing the weights, participants will gain physical insights such as, 'Moving feels much heavier than I imagined.' After physically understanding the need for beauty in care, a standard industry and school information session will follow.
