Talk Event & Autograph Session with 'Mirai' Author Kanae Minato to be Held at Rinku Sennan and Wakayama Stores to Commemorate Movie Release! Events at Both Stores on the Same Day, Saturday, April 25th.

Mirai-ya Shoten Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Mihama-ku, Chiba; President: Masataka Hirakawa), an AEON Group company, is pleased to announce the renewal openings of its Mirai-ya Shoten Rinku Sennan store and Mirai-ya Shoten Wakayama store.

To commemorate the renewals, we will welcome Kanae Minato, the original author of the movie 'Mirai,' for an autograph session and talk show on Saturday, April 25, 2026. (The Wakayama store will host an autograph session only.)

Distribution of numbered tickets required for the autograph sessions will begin on Friday, April 17.

Kanae Minato
Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1973. In 2007, she won the Shosetsu Suiri Newcomer Award for 'The Cleric.' The following year, she made her debut with 'Confessions,' which included the award-winning story. The book ranked #1 on the '2008 Shukan Bunshun Mystery Best 10,' won the 2009 Japan Booksellers' Award, and became a massive bestseller with over 4 million copies sold after being adapted into a film.
In 2012, she won the Mystery Writers of Japan Award for Best Short Story for 'Bokyo, Umi no Hoshi.' In 2016, she won the Yamamoto Shugoro Prize for 'Utopia.' In 2018, her novel 'Penance' was nominated for an Edgar Award (Best Paperback Original), earning her high acclaim both in Japan and internationally. Many of her works have been adapted into films, including 'Shoujo,' 'The Snow White Murder Case,' 'Bosei,' and 'Bokyo.' Her recent publication is 'Gyosei.'

【Story】
Maiko, who grew up in a complex family environment, fulfills her dream of becoming a teacher to meet her grandmother's expectations.
