MinebeaMitsumi Inc. (hereinafter 'MinebeaMitsumi') will provide technical cooperation using its smart LED lighting 'SALIOT' spotlights for the art exhibition 'Minna no Ponkickies Ten P-kies for Everyone,' held at PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO on the 4th floor of Shibuya PARCO from Friday, April 17 to Monday, May 18. The artist yooolk (Shunsuke Itakura), who plans the art direction for the event venue, highly evaluated how the moving spotlights of 'SALIOT' fit the exhibition concept, leading to this technical cooperation. Eight SALIOT S3 series units will be used in the 'Future Area' of the venue to produce light that 'moves with intention.' About 'Minna no Ponkickies Ten P-kies for Everyone': This art exhibition is hosted by PARCO Co., Ltd. and held at PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO on the 4th floor of Shibuya PARCO. It is part of a large-scale collaboration involving popular characters born from Fuji TV's early childhood education program Ponkickies series, such as Gachapin & Mukku and the P-kies Family, and over 500 types of stores and companies across 50 entities, including apparel brands, restaurants, and commercial facilities in the Shibuya/Harajuku area. Future Area x SALIOT Exhibition Overview: The venue of this exhibition is divided into three areas: Past, Present, and Future. 'SALIOT' spotlights were adopted for the lighting in the Future Area. Yooolk is in charge of the composition and direction of the Future Area, developing an exhibition where visitors can feel the transition of time and the change of light in the space. In general exhibition lighting, light is often fixed to show the artwork stably, but in this exhibition, by using SALIOT, light itself is incorporated as an element that constitutes the spatial experience. The brightness of the Future Area is not constant but gently changes, and moving spotlights illuminate as if selecting the artwork. As the direction and way the light hits change gently, the exhibition space does not remain in a single appearance, and the relationship between the artwork and the space delicately shifts. The Future Area is presented as an open state full of possibilities, creating a space with the impression of flowing time rather than being static. While touching upon the familiarity and rich memories of 'Ponkickies,' visitors can simultaneously rediscover its charm as a new spatial experience.
