Ichikawa Park MTB Field Area Map Updated
We have updated the area map for the Ichikawa Park MTB Field due to advancements in course maintenance. Two new long courses have been added, expanding the field to allow beginners to fully enjoy themselves and further hone their safe riding skills for mountain terrain.
This area map update was made possible through the cooperation of our members who regularly use and maintain the field.
From Ichikawa Park MTB Field to a Vast Trail Network in the Surrounding Mountains
The Ichikawa Park MTB Field has been developed as a base field for safely learning the fundamentals of mountain biking and gradually stepping up.
Furthermore, a vast trail network of approximately 50km spans the entire Kofu Basin in the surrounding mountainous areas. This is one of the largest in Japan, representing an ideal configuration for a mountain biking environment: a vast trail network spreading around a base field. This is the norm in advanced countries.
However, in Japan, due to the complexity and difficulty of obtaining permits and coordinating mountain roads, there are few examples of environments that allow for such gradual development. Despite this, we, Yamamoribito, have developed a vast field environment where one can enjoy everything from basic practice to full-fledged trail riding.
Furthermore, we have been engaged in policy advocacy activities for many years to replicate this system nationwide and leave an environment where future generations can freely experience the wonderful history and culture of Japan's mountainous and rural areas through MTB.
After mastering the basics of mountain biking at Ichikawa Park MTB Field, we encourage you to join our membership or participate in guided tours to experience the extensive trail network that spreads across the Kofu Basin. You can enjoy a field of rare scale in Japan while gradually stepping up your skills.
We will continue to develop and improve the field together with our users, leveraging the local natural environment, and strive to create a model for sustainable mountain biking environments in Japan, ensuring MTB and mountain roads are properly positioned in Japanese policy and systems.
