Comment from Daiki Kimura
I am deeply honored to have been appointed as an expert advisor for Mikan Baby G.K.
In providing support for individuals with developmental disorders and autism spectrum disorder, it is essential to adopt the "social model of disability," which views difficulties not merely as individual characteristics but as arising from interactions with societal environments and systems.
Therefore, it is crucial to engage in continuous dialogue and coordination not only with individuals but also with families, educational institutions, corporations, and government agencies.
The initiatives by Mikan Baby G.K. toward achieving a truly inclusive society place strong emphasis on such dialogue and collaboration, aiming to transform societal environments and systems into more accessible and participatory ones. I will contribute my expertise in clinical psychology and research and practice related to autism spectrum disorder to support the company’s projects, training programs, and planning.
I hope to make even a small contribution to building a society where everyone can participate as their authentic self by connecting practical experience with specialized knowledge.
