■ Background of Providing "FreeiD Pay" Face Recognition Payment Service
Migalo Group's DXYZ provides face recognition services for "entry/exit" at apartments and offices and "identity verification" at theme parks through "FreeiD," a face recognition platform that "connects the world with just your face" with a single face registration. To realize a world where people can move freely "with just their face" without carrying keys, wallets, or smartphones, we are promoting demonstration projects toward the commercialization of "payment" services at stores and other locations.
In an initiative at Aeon Mall Tokoname held for six days from January 24–26 and February 22–24, 2025 (*1), 346 people across a wide age range (20s to 60s) used the "FreeiD Pay" face recognition payment service. The results showed 1,173 transactions totaling approximately 3.5 million yen. Furthermore, in a survey conducted at that time, over 95% of users responded that they were "favorable toward the face recognition payment service," indicating high expectations for future face recognition payment services.
In the future, Migalo Group's DXYZ aims to solve social issues such as labor shortages in the distribution and retail industries through labor-saving and automation of store operations. We will consider the commercialization of the "FreeiD Pay" face recognition payment service, including POS integration.
