The "Hanno: The Town Where You Can Meet Moomins" Project Promotion Council (the Council) will hold the first "Hanno Midsummer Festival" from May 23 (Sat) to August 31 (Mon), 2026. This council was formed by five organizations: Hanno City, Moomin Monogatari Ltd., Seibu Railway Co., Ltd., the Hanno Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Oku-musashi Hanno Tourism Association to promote Hanno as a city where visitors can experience the world of Moomin.

In Northern Europe, the Summer Solstice is a special day with the longest daylight of the year. People celebrate the midnight sun by lighting bonfires and expressing gratitude to nature. Traditions include weaving flower crowns for health and placing flowers under pillows to dream of love, as plants are believed to possess mystical powers during this time.

During the "Hanno Midsummer Festival," events will be held at the Nordic-themed facility "Metsä" and various locations in Hanno City. A special "Hanno Mankitsu! Moominvalley Park Outing Pass (Digital)" will be sold, featuring a 1,000-yen coupon and a Summer Solstice version Moominvalley Park original sticker. Flower crowns, the symbol of the festival, will decorate shops and streets to create a sense of unity across the city.
