"SusHi Tech Global" Program to Strengthen Resilience in Resources, Energy, etc. Now Accepting Applications

In light of the current situation in the Middle East and other factors, the importance of accelerating the transformation of the energy structure and other measures is increasing to realize a society that does not rely solely on oil.

Therefore, the Metropolis will implement the "Program to Strengthen Resilience in Resources, Energy, etc. (hereinafter referred to as the 'Program')" which utilizes the innovative technologies of startups to aim for resource conservation, energy saving, and resource circulation.

Under this program, projects aiming for structural transformation of resources and energy through innovative new technologies will be recruited from "SusHi Tech Global Startups," and support will be provided for the social implementation of new technologies. Through these projects, we aim to build new industrial models and contribute to the realization of a sustainable city.

We hereby announce that the basic matters concerning the recruitment for this program have been established.

1. About the Program to Strengthen Resilience in Resources, Energy, etc.

The Program will recruit initiatives for up to 18 months that lead to resource conservation, energy saving, and resource circulation from among SusHi Tech Global Startups, with a maximum of five projects to be selected.

For the selected initiatives, we will aim for the social implementation of new technologies held by startups by providing financial support of up to 200 million yen and tailored support services.

[Requirements for Initiatives to be Recruited (Projects Contributing to Strengthening Urban Resilience)]

- Initiatives that significantly contribute to the transformation of resource and energy structures through the social implementation of new technologies. - Initiatives that bring about significant economic and social impact. - Bold challenges that effectively utilize financial support from the Metropolis.

- Financial support of up to 200 million yen per project. - Provision of tailored support services.

The following support menus will be customized in collaboration with appropriate partners according to the needs of the selected startups and provided in a timely manner.

- Information/Network: Searching for partners for demonstration and social implementation in various regions worldwide and domestically (horizontal expansion domestically and internationally), research and sharing of market information for each region, etc. - Business Strategy: Support for domestic and international business development, support for verification of new technologies and PoC, support for business and sales strategies for domestic and international horizontal expansion, etc. - Support for execution and scaling of social implementation, intellectual property, response to overseas regulations, etc., providing a wide range of support in collaboration with various supporters.

2. About the Public Recruitment Schedule

The recruitment guidelines and application documents for this program are scheduled to be released on July 21, 2026 (Tuesday), and applications will begin to be accepted.

For those not participating in SusHi Tech Global Startups who wish to apply for this program, participation must be decided by Round 6 (deadline August 7 (Friday), selection early September) at the latest. 3. About SusHi Tech Global Startups

Startups with the potential to create innovation with excellent technology and ideas, leading to the realization of a sustainable society and affluent lives for people, are selected as "SusHi Tech Global Startups." In cooperation and collaboration with various supporters, programs tailored to challenges such as human resources/systems and business/capital strategies are implemented for global growth.

This initiative promotes the "2050 Tokyo Strategy."
