Tokyo Metropolitan Government Launches Subsidy for AI and Advanced Tech Adoption in Tourist Areas

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is launching a subsidy for the 2026 fiscal year to promote the implementation of advanced technologies such as AI in tourist areas. Alongside this, an event will be held to introduce case studies of advanced technology utilization.

1. Target Applicants Groups composed of two or more businesses within Tokyo.

2. Eligible Projects Initiatives where multiple businesses collaborate on an area-by-area basis to implement advanced technologies like AI to increase the added value of tourist sites. - Eligible Expenses: Equipment costs, system implementation costs, expert guidance costs. - Subsidy Limit/Rate: Up to 40 million yen / within 1/2 of expenses. - Project Duration: Within one year from the date of grant decision.

3. Application Period From May 26, 2026 (Tue) to August 14, 2026 (Fri).

4. Number of Projects to be Selected: 4 (planned).

5. Briefing Session Attendance at an individual briefing session is required after checking the Industrial Labor Affairs Bureau website by August 5, 2026 (Wed).
