Discussing the "Future of Cycling" including sports and sustainability – First in Japan! 2027 UCI Forum to be held in Tokyo!

The International Cycling Union (UCI) today announced that the "UCI MOBILITY & BIKE CITY FORUM" (UCI Forum), an international conference hosted by the UCI to discuss the future of cycling, will be held in Tokyo in 2027. This marks the first time for the event to be held in Japan. Leveraging the opportunity of the UCI Forum, efforts will be made to promote collaboration with domestic and international cycling stakeholders and strengthen global outreach. About the UCI Forum (1) UCI Forum Overview ・ The largest international conference organized by the UCI, discussing cycling from various perspectives including sports and sustainability. ・ Recent host cities include Abu Dhabi (UAE) in 2024, Copenhagen (Denmark) in 2025. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has obtained the "UCI BIKE CITY LABEL" certified by the International Cycling Union (UCI). The "UCI BIKE CITY LABEL" is awarded by the UCI to cities and regions undertaking pioneering initiatives in cycling, and Tokyo is the first city in the East Asia region to acquire it. In cooperation with the UCI and other certified cities, Tokyo will further promote cycling-based sports projects and the creation of an environment where everyone can use bicycles safely and comfortably.
