Tokyo Heat Countermeasure Goods Contest: Citizen Voting Begins

In recent years, the risk of heatstroke has been increasing annually due to the impact of climate change and extreme heat.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is promoting "Heatstroke Countermeasures to Protect Lives" as part of its "2050 Tokyo Strategy" and is holding the "Tokyo Heat Countermeasure Goods Contest" to encourage a shift to lifestyles adapted to the heat.

This time, heat countermeasure goods submitted by businesses underwent a first round of judging by experts, and 12 candidate goods across 4 categories were selected. For these goods, a second round of judging will be conducted through citizen voting using the Tokyo App from Friday, May 1st to Sunday, May 10th. The results will be announced at an award event for the media on Friday, May 29th.

Furthermore, the candidate goods will be exhibited according to the following schedule.

1. Award candidate goods that passed the first round of judging.

2. Citizen voting on the Tokyo App (Second round of judging).

(1) Voting Period: From Friday, May 1st to Sunday, May 10th, Reiwa 8 (2026).

(2) How to Vote: Vote via the Tokyo App.

(3) Voting Targets: Award candidate goods that passed the first round of judging.

(4) Special Offer: 100 people will be randomly selected from those who voted to receive a 500-yen Amazon gift certificate.

3. Award Candidate Goods Panel Exhibition.

(1) Date and Time: From Saturday, May 2nd to Thursday, May 7th, Reiwa 8 (2026).

10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

(2) Location: Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1, 1st Floor.

(3) Content: Panel exhibition of award candidate goods.

4. Award Candidate Goods Actual Product Exhibition.

(1) Date and Time: From Friday, May 8th to Sunday, May 10th, Reiwa 8 (2026).

10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

(2) Location: ① Shinjuku Station West Exit Plaza Event Corner (1-5 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo).

② Hachioji Octore 2nd Floor (9-1 Asahi-cho, Hachioji City, Tokyo).

(3) Content: Actual product exhibition of award candidate goods.

5. Award Event (Open only to media representatives).

(1) Date and Time: Morning of Friday, May 29th, Reiwa 8 (2026).

(2) Location: Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

(3) Content: Presentations by award winners, award ceremony, etc. (planned).
