The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is currently implementing 'Citizen Proposals' and 'University Proposals' to directly reflect the immediate concerns of residents and the daily research results of university researchers in metropolitan administration.
Furthermore, TMG holds a 'Public Vote' where residents can directly choose the projects to be implemented by the metropolis from among these proposals.
Since the system's inception, numerous proposals and votes have been received, leading to the adoption of nearly 100 projects.
For the fiscal year 2026 (FY2026) projects, we are recruiting proposals from April 3 (Fri) to May 31 (Sun). Following a screening process by the Metropolitan Government, an internet vote by the residents is scheduled to take place around late July for the gathered business plans.
Based on the results of the public vote, these will be reflected in the FY2027 (令和9年度) budget plan.
