In November of Reiwa 7 (2025), the Tokyo Metropolitan Government updated its startup strategy to "Global Innovation Strategy 2.0 STARTUP & SCALEUP," positioning global scale-up as a new pillar of its initiatives and promoting support for companies aiming for dramatic global growth.

Under this strategy, the "SusHi Tech Global" project has been launched to provide intensive support to promising startups alongside a diverse range of top-tier supporters. The project first forms a pool of 100-150 "SusHi Tech Global Startups," and provides support tailored to their growth stage while conducting hearings on their current situation and challenges.

We are pleased to announce that 10 companies have been selected for the third round. This brings the total number of SusHi Tech Global Startups to 77. From among these startups, companies that are at the right timing for global expansion will be selected to receive a growth acceleration program with hands-on support and financial backing of up to 200 million yen. From the startups that complete this program, a further selection of companies with high potential for even greater leaps will be made, and they will be offered a global scale-up program with support of up to 1 billion yen.

We will continue to add promising companies sequentially to create startups that can succeed globally.

1. About "SusHi Tech Global"

  • Startups with the potential to create innovation with superior technology and ideas, realize a sustainable society, and enrich people's lives will be designated as SusHi Tech Global Startups. Programs tailored to their challenges in areas such as human resources, organizational structure, business strategy, and capital strategy will be rolled out sequentially to support their global growth.

  • In implementing the support programs, we will cooperate and collaborate with a diverse range of supporters, providing effective support that leverages their respective strengths and networks, while also upgrading the content through discussions with supporters and others.

  • Furthermore, from among the SusHi Tech Global Startups, we will solicit proposals for initiatives leading to global growth and implement a "Growth Acceleration Program" with financial support of up to 200 million yen per project and custom-made, hands-on support.
