Our Group's Mizumusubi Management Miyagi Co., Ltd. Concludes Contract with Shichigahama Town, Miyagi Prefecture for "Comprehensive Management Services for Wastewater Pump Stations, etc. in Shichigahama Town"

Mizumusubi Management Miyagi Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "MMM"), an operating company of the "Miyagi Integrated Water and Sewerage Public-Private Partnership Project" (hereinafter "Miyagi-style management and operation method"), in which METAWATER Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Kenji Yamaguchi, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) participates as the representative company, concluded a contract with Shichigahama Town on January 26, 2026, for "Comprehensive Management Services for Wastewater Pump Stations, etc. in Shichigahama Town" (hereinafter "this project"). This project is a public-private partnership utilizing the framework of "Water PPP (Level 3.5 Renewal Support Type)" promoted by the government, and MMM will comprehensively undertake services related to the overall management, maintenance, and renovation support of wastewater pump stations, etc. throughout the town. Furthermore, this project is positioned as an optional project in the implementation agreement for public facility operation rights under the Miyagi-style management and operation method concluded between Miyagi Prefecture and MMM. Shichigahama Town's sewerage business operates wastewater pipelines and pump stations, and all wastewater is treated by the Senen Basin Sewerage Project (Senen Purification Center). Currently, the town faces urgent challenges such as management issues due to changes in the social environment, measures against aging facilities, and securing specialized personnel. Strengthening the management base through the implementation of comprehensive private outsourcing was sought as a solution. In this project, MMM will maximize the private sector know-how and scale merits cultivated through the Miyagi-style management and operation method, and by comprehensively carrying out operations for 10 years, especially by strengthening cooperation with the Senen Purification Center, it will achieve operational efficiency, improved service levels, and the establishment of a sustainable maintenance and management system.
