METAWATER Co., Ltd. (President: Kenji Yamaguchi, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), as the representative company of the Special Purpose Company (SPC) "Ube Aqua Front Co., Ltd." (hereinafter, "Ube Aqua Front"), held a commencement ceremony for the "Ube City Public Sewerage Western Treatment Area Operation Project" (hereinafter, "this project"), which was commissioned by Ube City, on April 1st at the Ube City Hall Citizen Exchange Building. Approximately 50 people, including Ube City Mayor Keiji Shinozaki, attended the ceremony.

In this project, a "concession scheme" has been introduced for the operation and maintenance of the facilities. Ube Aqua Front will promote management efficiency by utilizing the unique technologies and ingenuity of a private company over a long period of 30 years, aiming for sustainable and stable operation of the sewage business. Furthermore, by utilizing power generation from digester gas generated from sewage sludge and off-site solar power generation, the company will actively work to reduce environmental impact towards the realization of a decarbonized society.

Ube Aqua Front will be rooted in the community as an infrastructure company supporting Ube City, playing a part in the city's sewage business. As the representative company, we will leverage the know-how in business operation cultivated through numerous public-private partnership (PPP/PFI) projects, and closely collaborate with Ube City and each constituent company to support the project operation.
