Fukuchiyama Water and Sewerage Service Co., Ltd. Joins MetaWater Group

MetaWater Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Kenji Yamaguchi, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) acquired shares of Fukuchiyama Water and Sewerage Service Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Shunjiro Morinaga, Headquarters: Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture, hereinafter "FWSC"), which performs emergency water pipe repairs, water supply equipment repairs, leak investigations, and water and drainage facility construction inspections, and made it a subsidiary as of April 1.

In the domestic water and sewerage market, in addition to the visible financial difficulties of local governments and technician shortages caused by population decline, the aging of facilities and equipment developed during Japan's period of rapid economic growth and measures against natural disasters are urgent issues. Even for pipelines, urgent replacement of pipelines that have exceeded their statutory useful life is required, but investment in replacement has not kept up, and the aging rate is increasing.

In this situation, our group aims to strengthen its pipeline management capabilities by building an integrated management system from pipeline planning to construction completion, through acquiring the experience and know-how in pipeline construction that FWSC has cultivated, as part of strengthening our response capabilities to Water PPP.

FWSC, as a third-sector company supporting regional pipeline construction, has been engaged in activities with high specialization and collaboration with local companies for over 30 years since its establishment. Even after joining our group, it will continue to contribute to solving regional issues.
