MenLab Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yoshihiko Matsuura) announces the launch of a joint development project with Yano Research Institute to create a new experiential training program, 'Health Management Simulation Training,' aimed at advancing human capital management in corporations.
While attention to human capital and health management is growing, many companies still face challenges such as:
- Health management failing to penetrate frontline operations - Managers’ health issues remaining invisible - Presenteeism (employees attending work but with reduced productivity) going undetected - Issues like male menopause, sleep deprivation, and stress being treated as personal matters
MenLab has been working to visualize 'invisible health issues,' including male menopause, through its male condition visualization service, 'Gentsome.'
In this joint project with Yano Research Institute, a new training program will be developed using experiential games to teach how health issues impact organizational performance and corporate value.
The program will focus on real-world workplace health challenges such as:
- Male menopause - Sleep deprivation - Stress - Caregiving responsibilities - PMS - Mental health issues
Participants will learn about human capital management through a business simulation format. By playing the game, they will experience firsthand that health issues are not merely personal concerns but critical business challenges directly affecting corporate productivity and organizational performance.
Comment from Yoshihiko Matsuura, CEO of MenLab Inc.:
'While human capital management is gaining attention, health management in many companies is still discussed as an extension of employee benefits. We aim to visualize invisible issues like male menopause and presenteeism to improve corporate productivity. Through this collaboration, we hope to increase the number of companies that recognize health issues as strategic business concerns and advance the practical implementation of human capital management.'
Comment from Mr. Matsushima, Senior Researcher, X Business Division, Yano Research Institute:
'Disclosure of human capital information and health management initiatives have become key topics in corporate strategy. However, many companies have prioritized policy and program development without ensuring full understanding among employees and managers.
This project aims to make human capital management more practical by enabling participants to experientially understand the relationship between health issues and business performance. By combining MenLab’s expertise in male health condition analysis with our market and corporate research insights, we will deliver a new corporate learning program.'
