Menicon Co., Ltd. (Head Office: 3-21-19 Aoi, Naka-ku, Nagoya; President, CEO, and Director: Yasushi Kawaura) is pleased to announce that its new headquarters building, the 'Menicon Theatre Aoi Building,' has received the Excellence Award at the '4th JOIFA Office Award,' hosted by the Japan Office Furniture Association (JOIFA).

The JOIFA Office Award aims to contribute to societal advancement by recognizing outstanding examples of office improvements that positively impact business performance. Entries are evaluated holistically, including not only spatial design but also alignment with corporate philosophy and management policies, implementation of new workstyles, achievement of employee well-being, and contributions to local communities and culture.

The 'Menicon Theatre Aoi Building' is the new headquarters of Menicon, which began operations in April 2023. Designed around the concept of a 'sensory-stimulating office,' it serves as a physical embodiment of Menicon’s management philosophy of 'Creation, Originality, Challenge.' The building also reflects the spirit of the company’s mid-term management plan, 'Vision2030,' and its slogan, 'Bringing a New Way of 'Seeing' to the World,' within the workplace environment.

The following aspects were particularly highlighted in the evaluation:

- Decomposition of Menicon’s target workstyle, 'Smart Creation,' into nine distinct activities, each supported by a dedicated space - Implementation of an office environment conducive to Activity-Based Working (ABW), allowing employees to choose workspaces based on their tasks - Clear functional zoning and conceptual design per floor, enabling employees to intuitively utilize appropriate spaces - Provision of a psychologically comfortable workspace through thoughtful interior design, lighting, and acoustics - Employee involvement in establishing usage rules, fostering autonomous and responsible office utilization - Inclusion of a theater facility that contributes to the promotion of local culture

These initiatives have led the 'Menicon Theatre Aoi Building' to be recognized as an exemplary model of a modern office that embodies corporate values, innovative workstyles, and community engagement.

Notably, the building was also awarded the 'New Office Promotion Award' and the 'New Office Promotion Award (Chubu Economic Industry Bureau Director General Prize)' at the 37th Nikkei New Office Award in 2024. This latest recognition at the JOIFA Office Award further underscores its sustained excellence—not only as a workplace designed for employee well-being but also as a space that reflects corporate philosophy and strengthens ties with the local community.

Going forward, Menicon will continue to promote environments where each employee can fully utilize their abilities, guided by the principles of 'Creation, Originality, Challenge,' while advancing corporate activities that contribute to the development of local communities and culture.
