Yamaguchi Sangyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taku City, Saga Prefecture; Representative Director: Atsuki Yamaguchi) will exhibit for the first time at "SaloneSatellite," a concurrent exhibition of the world's largest design trade fair, "Salone del Mobile.Milano," held in Milan, Italy, from Tuesday, April 21 to Sunday, April 26, 2026.

At this exhibition, we will unveil "SUKERU," a spatial product that fuses membrane materials and wood, co-created with Valentina Maria Vasile, an interior designer belonging to Re:public Inc., and Legnatec Co., Ltd.

## ■ About the Exhibited Product: "SUKERU"

"SUKERU" is a lightweight and versatile tent-like movable spatial product.

- Structural Inspiration: Incorporating the structural principles of the traditional Japanese "folding fan" (Sensu), it adopts a mechanism where multiple ribs open and close around a single pivot point.
- Origin of the Name: Derived from the Japanese verb "sukeru" (to be transparent), it expresses a space where soft light shines through the translucent membrane material.
- Function and Application: It is possible to change the degree of enclosure in stages according to the usage environment and purpose. It proposes a new form of interior design that "softly partitions" various everyday scenes such as resting, workspaces, and meditation.

## ■ Challenge as "Translators of Design": Fusion of Wood and Membrane

This project is a team effort in which Yamaguchi Sangyo, with its technical expertise in membrane material processing, embodies the beautiful vision drawn by the designer as "Translators of Design."

- Technical Challenges: To elevate "membrane," which has developed as an industrial material, into the interior, we challenged the highly technical issue of seamless joining with a wooden frame.
- Co-creation System: Collaborated with designer Valentina Maria Vasile and wooden furniture manufacturer Legnatec Co., Ltd.
