Meiji Kinenkan (2-2-23 Moto-Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo) will open its Beer Terrace "Sekirei" on weekdays only, from Monday, June 1, 2026, to Thursday, July 30, 2026.

At "Sekirei," guests can enjoy food and drinks in a magical atmosphere in central Tokyo, with bonfires lit in the approximately 1,000-tsubo garden, meticulously maintained daily by dedicated gardeners. A diverse menu, creatively devised by chefs who also cater to weddings, will be available.

This year, due to the cultural property preservation project "Main Building Repair Work," large-scale scaffolding and enclosures have been installed on the garden side, and a part of the garden is under construction. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding.

[About Meiji Kinenkan]

The main building of Meiji Kinenkan was completed in 1881 (Meiji 14) as the "Akasaka Temporary Imperial Palace Dining Hall" at the current location of the State Guest House. In 1888 (Meiji 21), it became the venue for the Imperial Conference to deliberate the draft of the "Constitution of the Empire of Japan," which Emperor Meiji attended without fail. Due to this history, the main building of Meiji Kinenkan is also known as the "Constitution Memorial Hall."
After being relocated to its current site, it was used as a venue for nationally and socially important events, such as the 30th-anniversary ceremony of the promulgation of the Constitution, the 50th-anniversary ceremony of the Imperial Rescript on Education, general meetings of the Japanese Red Cross Society and the Patriotic Women's Association, and commemorative events for Saiseikai.
In 1947 (Showa 22), the "Meiji Kinenkan" was inaugurated as a comprehensive wedding hall, and since then, it has celebrated the new beginnings of over 230,000 couples. Currently, it is used for various purposes beyond weddings, including MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) for parties and conferences, anniversary celebrations, and dining at its restaurants and kaiseki ryotei.
In 2020 (Reiwa 2), the historical and architectural value of the main building was recognized, and it was designated as a Tokyo Metropolitan Tangible Cultural Property (Building).
