Construction Industry Field DX System Adoption Surges 300% in One Year as SMEs Accelerate Investment

Meetsmore, an online comparison service operated by Meetsmore Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Ayako Ishikawa), reported that requests for three 'Field DX' services (construction management, estimation management, and cost management systems) from small and medium-sized enterprises (1-100 employees) in the construction and engineering sectors surged by 199% year-on-year (from 488 to 1,461 requests). Notably, cost management systems recorded the highest growth rate at 300% (a fourfold increase). This growth is approximately 2.7 times faster than that of back-office SaaS (+11.8%), indicating a rapid acceleration in DX investment directly supporting field operations in the blue-collar construction sector. The growth rate for SMEs (1-100 employees) is about 1.9 times faster than that of mid-to-large enterprises (101+ employees), with sole proprietors and small specialized contractors (1-10 employees) serving as the primary drivers of these requests. The trend is spreading beyond the Tokyo metropolitan area to regional cities like Osaka and Miyagi, signaling a nationwide shift in awareness. This surge is driven by structural challenges, including severe labor shortages, wage increase pressures, and the overtime work cap regulations implemented in April 2024, making investment in field management critical for profit margins.
