[Event Details] Date: Wednesday, April 15 (Application deadline: Wednesday, April 8) Theme: Japan's Challenges in Pediatric Liver Transplantation and the Future of Transplant Medicine Speaker: Dr. Mureo Kasahara (Hospital Director, National Center for Child Health and Development) Dr. Kasahara, who boasts one of the world's highest volumes of pediatric living donor liver transplant surgeries and exceptional survival rates, built the center's liver transplant program from scratch and elevated Japan's liver transplant system to international standards. In this lecture, he will discuss the unique progress of transplant medicine in Japan, where organ donation after brain death is limited, and propose sustainable systems for an era with fewer children. Additionally, he will introduce Japan's international expansion, including human resource development and medical support overseas.
