Artist: Kozuna Kaba (with artwork 'Planet Parade' in background)
Kozuna Kaba has worked as an advertising art director and designer primarily in the music industry, contributing to projects for renowned artists such as HY, BUCK-TICK, Kazuyoshi Saito, and TM NETWORK. At one point, driven by a desire to create his own original works, he produced the art book "SILENT CODE" in 2007, themed around space and science fiction—interests since childhood. The work caught the attention of Swarovski, leading to an invitation to design jewelry. That jewelry later graced the cover of Swarovski Gemstones' official worldwide catalog in 2015. Inspired by this, Kaba launched the space-themed jewelry brand GRAVITY in 2017. The name GRAVITY refers not only to physical gravity but also to the attraction and bonds that draw people, places, and moments together. The brand gained popularity with Atsushi Sakurai of BUCK-TICK as its visual image model. Meanwhile, through his connection with journalist Kenji Goto (later killed by Islamic extremists), Kaba began holding collaborative solo exhibitions starting in 2009. Influenced by Goto’s book "I Want Peace More Than Diamonds" (Shio Publishing), Kaba visited diamond mining sites in Central Africa and witnessed the harsh conditions there. This connection with Goto eventually led to a meeting with an executive from a company that once operated a jewelry shop, culminating in the creation of the sustainable diamond brand GRAVITY/NeO.
