The Day Asian Fans of Japanese Content Can Express Their Thoughts on Your Work in Japanese

If you are a creator who has been releasing works at Comiket, just imagining it would surely warm your heart.

In reality, what is happening in Asia now? According to a survey by the Japan Foundation, the number of Japanese language learners in Asia reached a record high of 3.16 million in 2024. The biggest motivation for this is "love for Japanese anime and manga." Young people in Vietnam, university students in India, and high school students in Bangladesh are falling in love with Japanese content and starting to learn Japanese.

They might even know your work. But for now, there's a language barrier preventing them from communicating.

We want to break down that barrier with the power of anime.

## ■ The biggest barrier to language learning is the inability to continue

The reasons learners give up midway are simple: textbooks are boring, there are no opportunities to actually use the language, and learning isn't connected to their favorite content. When these three conditions are met, people stop learning.

TalkFun Japan solves all three of these problems with anime. You won't get bored because you learn with lines from your favorite characters. The interactive design makes you feel like what you've learned can be used in actual conversations. And above all, the act of "learning Japanese" itself becomes an expression of love for your favorite content/creator.

The background to the birth of this service stems from the realities we've felt while working with young engineers across various Asian countries. Everyone loves Japanese content and wants to learn Japanese, but there's no system to help them continue. It is our mission to bridge that gap.

## ■ Starting in Vietnam, connecting with creators and fans across Asia

The first step in our Asian expansion is Vietnam. This market best meets the three conditions of high enthusiasm for Japanese language learning, widespread digital culture including TikTok, and deep familiarity with Japanese anime and manga. Full-scale local activities began in March 2026.

In the next phase, we will expand to India, Nepal, and Bangladesh, where English is an auxiliary official language. In all these regions, interest in Japanese content is rapidly increasing, and there is an anticipated demand for TalkFun Japan.

While optimizing for each country's culture, we will build a "learning ecosystem" that combines learning services and information dissemination. On our official blog "note," foreign members will share the appeal of Japanese language, Japanese culture, and IT, creating a community that goes beyond just a learning tool.

By 2030, through TalkFun Japan, we will create a world where 1 million people across Asia learn Japanese through anime. Until the day Asian fans can express their gratitude to creators in Japanese.
