Mitsubishi Electric Building Solutions to Launch “Ville-feuille® Video Cloud Service”

Mitsubishi Electric Building Solutions Corporation, headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo and led by President Iwao Oda, will launch “Ville-feuille® Video Cloud Service,” a new service using the smart city and building IoT platform “Ville-feuille®,” on May 25. “Ville-feuille®” is an IoT platform that connects various building facilities, such as elevators and air-conditioning systems, over a network, enabling coordination among equipment. It also analyzes and processes accumulated operational data to help optimize building operations. As the importance of safety assurance and risk management grows in building security, surveillance cameras have become essential infrastructure. Surveillance camera systems include recorder-based systems, in which recorders and other equipment are installed on site, and cloud-based systems that do not require recorders. Recorder-based systems face challenges such as increasing failure risk as equipment ages, the need for parts replacement and equipment renewal to maintain stable operation, and the cost and time required for procurement and system reconstruction. The new service combines cloud-to-cloud integration through “Ville-feuille®” with Panasonic Connect’s cloud recording service “Cameleo®.” It reduces the operating costs of surveillance camera systems and the burden of equipment renewal, while improving monitoring efficiency and convenience in building security management. Mitsubishi Electric Building Solutions will continue to use “Ville-feuille®” to promote integration with various building facilities and co-creation with partner companies, delivering new value to building owners, managers, and other customers. The service has three key features. First, cloud-managed video monitoring reduces operational workload. Video is stored and managed in the cloud, enabling monitoring regardless of location or time and reducing patrol and on-site staffing work. The service uses Panasonic Connect’s “Cameleo®,” which has an extensive track record and high reliability. Second, no on-site recorder is required, making installation and operation easier. The only equipment needed on site is cameras and communication devices, eliminating recorders that carry failure risk and require regular parts replacement, while also helping save space in control rooms. Regular software updates are performed automatically online, allowing users to access the latest functions at all times. Third, the service provides data protection against unauthorized access and disasters. Security measures such as access control and encrypted communications help prevent leakage of recorded data. Cloud management also reduces the risk of data loss caused by fire, flooding, other disasters, or equipment theft. The product, “Ville-feuille® Video Cloud,” is a cloud-based video monitoring service. It enables viewing and downloading of live and recorded video without a recorder.
