Matsui Securities Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Akira Warita; hereinafter 'the Company') announces that starting from the trading session on April 13, 2026 (Monday), it will expand the 'Core Time' system—previously limited to USD/JPY—to all currency pairs in foreign exchange margin trading (FX). In addition, the Company will narrow the normal spreads for 18 currency pairs, including EUR/JPY, providing some of the industry's narrowest spreads (*1).
Background of the Change
At Matsui Securities, since the trading session on October 20, 2025 (Monday), we have set the 'Core Time' for USD/JPY between 9:00 AM and 3:00 AM the following day—a period when foreign exchange market participation is high and liquidity increases—and reduced the normal spread during this time to '0.2 pips' (*2).
To provide an environment where customers can trade more easily across a wider range of currency pairs beyond just USD/JPY, we have decided to narrow the normal spreads for an additional 18 currency pairs and introduce the Core Time system for all currency pairs.
