Toyama Prefecture's Official Agriculture-Specific Spot Work Service "Toyama Agri Matchbox" Enters Second Year After Creating Approx. 1,400 Jobs and Over 300 Repeat Farm Workers

"Toyama Agri Matchbox" was established in 2024 to secure labor during peak farming seasons and cultivate future agricultural workers by creating a flexible farming environment with work available from just one day or a few hours. It was selected for Toyama Prefecture's proof-of-concept project "Digi-PoC TOYAMA" and, after a four-month trial, has been in official operation since April 2025. In its first year, it has generated approximately 1,400 jobs, supplied over 7,000 hours of labor, and produced 23 long-term employees and over 300 repeat farm workers. It is beginning to function not just for temporary staffing but as a regional agricultural employment infrastructure that creates opportunities for continuous and long-term employment.

As a representative case study, Anewleaf Inc. (Headquarters: Nanto City, Toyama; Representative: Suguru Morita; hereinafter "Anewleaf") secured 17 long-term employees through "Toyama Agri Matchbox," which also led to the achievement of its goal of incorporation.

■ What is Toyama Agri Matchbox?
In Toyama Prefecture, where the aging of agricultural workers and a lack of successors are serious issues, securing labor during busy seasons is a major management challenge for many businesses. To address this, the Company has collaborated with Toyama Prefecture to develop "Toyama Agri Matchbox" as a new mechanism to connect businesses and workers within the prefecture. It not only enables the securing of single-instance and short-term workers but is also being increasingly used as a system that leads to repeat work and long-term employment.

■ Approx. 1,400 jobs created in the first year, including 23 long-term hires and repeat workers
One year after its official launch, the use of "Toyama Agri Matchbox" has steadily progressed among agricultural businesses in the prefecture. It has been used by over 50 businesses, creating a cumulative total of about 1,400 jobs. Furthermore, 23 workers across the prefecture have transitioned to long-term employment, showing that spot work can serve as an entry point for creating a long-term agricultural workforce.

Another achievement is the expanded use of Matchbox's characteristic "In-house Member" registration feature. This allows workers to register as a member of a specific business upon mutual agreement, enabling them to apply for exclusive job postings and making it easier to work continuously. The total number of registered in-house members for the service expanded from 61 during the trial period to 331 as of the end of March 2026.

■ Case Study: Anewleaf secures 17 long-term employees, boosting business expansion and incorporation
For Anewleaf, which cultivates green onions and garlic in Nanto City, securing personnel during peak seasons was a challenge amid business expansion. "Toyama Agri Matchbox" solved the problem of securing staff for the next day with its fast process from recruitment to confirmation. The company hired over 30 workers from their teens to their 60s, leading to more than 130 work assignments. By encouraging repeat work, 17 of them transitioned to long-term employment, which stabilized their workforce and supported their goal of incorporation.

Fostering local and external exchange, realizing "regional revitalization" through agriculture
At Anewleaf, interaction has blossomed between the local community members who have long supported the farm and the new workers coming from outside. This goes beyond simply securing labor, creating a flow of people involved in regional agriculture and broadening the base of human resources.

The Company will continue to support the operation of "Toyama Agri Matchbox" to build a system that promotes continuous and long-term employment in regional agriculture. Furthermore, leveraging these results, Toyama Prefecture plans to launch a new human resource matching platform for all industries, "Toyama Matchbox," in July 2026. This will expand flexible work opportunities from the agricultural sector to all industries.
