On April 9, 2026, Maserati announced a special stamp in Rome to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its iconic Trident logo. This emblem first appeared on the "Tipo 26" racing car in the 1926 Targa Florio. The stamp is part of the "The Excellence of the Production and Economic System" series from the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, honoring historical Italian brands. Maserati also celebrates its 112th founding anniversary and its first victory in the Targa Florio this year. The announcement event was held at the Sala degli Arazzi within Palazzo Piacentini, attended by officials including Federico Eichberg, Fausta Bergamotto, and Maserati COO Santo Ficili. The stamp, designed by Maserati Centro Stile and optimized by the Philatelic Center of the Italian State Mint and Polygraphic Institute (IPZS), features the current Trident in the foreground and the 1926 original Trident in a blue background, with a tricolor band symbolizing its Italian origin and "CENTENARIO" text. Poste Italiane will sell 250,020 copies for daily use and philatelic circulation, alongside collector's items such as blocks of four, first-day covers, and limited philatelic folders. The Trident logo was created by Mario Maserati, inspired by Neptune's Fountain in Bologna, the city where "Società Anonima Officine Alfieri Maserati" was founded by Alfieri, Ettore, and Ernesto Maserati in 1914. The Trident has been a symbol of Maserati's racing success, with two consecutive wins at the Indianapolis 500 (1939, 1940), four consecutive wins at the Targa Florio (1937-1940), nine F1 wins culminating in the 1957 World Championship with Juan Manuel Fangio, and six FIA GT Championship titles with the MC12 (2005-2010). Maserati GT2 has returned to closed-wheel championships since 2023. The stamp is manufactured by gravure printing on white coated self-adhesive paper, measuring 30 × 40 mm (print size) with 4 colors. Maserati operates in over 70 international markets, offering vehicles like the Grecale SUV, GranTurismo, GranCabrio, MC20, MC20 Cielo, GT2 Stradale, and MCXtrema, alongside customization (Fuoriserie), classic car certification (Maserati Classiche), and motorsport (Maserati Corse) programs.
