[Courtyard by Marriott Fukui] Implementing In-House Initiatives to Think About Diversity and Mutual Understanding for 'Pride Month' in June 2026

Courtyard by Marriott Fukui (Location: 1-3-5 Chuo, Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture; General Manager: Azusa Nonaka) will implement in-house initiatives to think about diversity and mutual understanding in conjunction with Pride Month in June 2026. Hotels bring together various people with different ages, nationalities, cultures, and values. That is why we want to cherish creating an environment where we respect each other's differences and everyone can spend time with peace of mind. Marriott International has long cherished the idea of 'creating an environment where everyone is welcomed and everyone can feel they belong.' Based on that philosophy, we will create opportunities to think about an environment where everyone can respect each other's differences and individuality and be themselves throughout Pride Month. The theme of this project is 'Love Respect Together: Toward a society where everyone can walk as themselves.' During the period, in addition to setting up a message wall where guests and associates can participate, we will invite Mr. Kazushi Fujiwara, also known as 'Kazue-chan,' a Fukui native who gives lectures nationwide on LGBTQ+, diversity, and human rights, to hold a special lecture for associates. Each person's story and experience create new awareness and understanding, making connections between people richer. Through this project, Courtyard by Marriott Fukui aims to share the importance of knowing, acknowledging, and respecting differences, and to create an opportunity to think about diversity and mutual understanding together with local residents and guests. ■ Project Overview. (1) Message wall connecting diverse thoughts. A participatory project for guests and associates. Please fill in your thoughts such as 'words you want to cherish,' 'support messages for someone,' 'what kind of society you want it to be,' and 'moments when you could be yourself' on rainbow-colored heart-shaped sticky notes. Through the collected words, we aim to share diverse values and ideas, and create an opportunity to know and understand each other. Location: 16th floor lobby business desk area. (2) Special lecture for associates. Lecturer: Mr. Kazushi Fujiwara, also known as 'Kazue-chan.' Born in Fukui Prefecture in 1982. He conducts interviews and disseminates information both in Japan and overseas on the themes of LGBTQ+, diversity, and human rights. He started disseminating information mainly on YouTube in 2016, and has interviewed over 900 people, including those concerned and their families. He is also in charge of many lectures and training sessions on diversity and SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity) at companies, local governments, and educational institutions. In 2022, he established the NPO 'Narossa ALLY Fukui' and continues activities aimed at realizing a society where diverse sexualities and each individual can live as themselves. He became an inclusive wedding advisor for Take and Give Needs in May 2026. Through interviews and lectures, he continues to disseminate information about diverse family forms and marriage equality. In this special lecture, he will provide an opportunity to think about diversity, mutual understanding, and 'an environment where everyone is welcomed and can feel they belong' through his own experiences and thoughts.
