Expanding Scope of AI Translation Use with Increasing Multilingual Documents Large corporations expanding overseas or collaborating with global bases are seeing a continuous increase in the volume and variety of documents requiring translation, such as product manuals, technical documents, contracts, and marketing materials. With the evolution of generative AI and machine translation, it's now possible to obtain natural-sounding translations in a shorter time than before, significantly broadening the scope of AI utilization in translation practices.

The Importance of Differentiating Between Documents Completed by AI Translation and Those Requiring Human Finishing For documents where accurate and speedy information delivery is prioritized, such as manuals, FAQs, and standardized internal confirmation documents, significant efficiency gains can be expected by utilizing AI machine translation. On the other hand, for important client-facing materials, marketing documents, and contract/legal-related documents, finishing is required not just for understandability, but also to encompass corporate culture, brand phrasing, specialized terminology, and the impression given to the reader. Therefore, it is crucial to differentiate between documents that can be completed by AI machine translation and those that require human review and correction.

Utilizing AI Translation and Human Review According to Document Characteristics In this seminar, we will introduce, with demonstrations, the appropriate tools for documents that can be completed by AI machine translation and those that require human finishing (post-editing), based on the document's purpose and quality requirements. For documents that can be completed by AI machine translation, Language Weaver Pro can be utilized, combined with LLM (Large Language Model) translation support in a secure environment, to enable speedy translation and context-aware translation generation and expression adjustment. Meanwhile, for documents requiring human correction and finishing, translations after AI translation can be reviewed on Trados Studio, with corrections and reviews made on the spot while referencing translation memories and term bases. Translation work can proceed while maintaining file formats such as PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF, thus reducing the effort required for post-translation layout adjustments or recreation. AI translation does not automatically achieve accurate translations simply by introduction; building an optimal translation ecosystem is important. We will share practical points for advancing efficiency by identifying areas where human intervention is necessary while leveraging AI translation, and eliminating reliance on individuals.

Recommended For: * Those who have started using AI translation or generative AI but are unsure how to differentiate their use by document. * Those who feel that review and correction efforts are not decreasing despite an increase in translation volume. * Those struggling with quality standards for different document types, such as technical documents, contracts, and marketing materials. * Those who want to know how to combine translation memory, term bases, AI machine translation, and LLMs in practical work.
