Mr. Sekihara was born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1971. He completed his master's degree in natural sciences (mechanical engineering) at Kobe University Graduate School. In 1997, he joined Sanwa Research Institute (now Mitsubishi UFJ Research & Consulting) and supported companies ranging from those listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange to domestic and international venture companies in the management strategy division.
He established Insight in 2007. The company advocates for "the creation of a society where all people with disabilities and those involved can live happily," and has conducted over 5,000 training sessions and over 1,500 consulting cases related to disability welfare.
In the lecture, he will introduce his motivation for leaving corporate life to enter the world of disability welfare, and the disaster recovery support project for welfare businesses launched after the Great East Japan Earthquake. He will explain key points for improving the management of disability welfare businesses, and examples of companies that have creatively employed people with disabilities and seen them grow into indispensable personnel in the workplace.
Mr. Sekihara shares a message: "I hold the belief that 'Japan's proud content is anime, manga, and welfare.' I hope that the welfare know-how we possess can be of use to everyone."
