MagicPod Inc. (Chuo City, Tokyo; CEO: Nozomi Ito), provider of an AI-powered test automation platform, has officially launched its "Mixed Platform Testing" feature, enabling users to manage and execute test cases for mobile apps and web browsers collectively within a single project.

With this new feature, end-to-end (E2E) test scenarios spanning both mobile and web environments—previously difficult to automate—can now be automated together in one project. This functionality is immediately available to customers on the Enterprise Plan and the New Standard Plan 2025.

Background

Until now, MagicPod managed mobile app and browser environments as separate projects, requiring individual execution. However, in real-world user flows, mobile and web applications often work in tandem. Demand has grown for E2E testing scenarios that span platforms—for example, verifying on the web the results of an action performed in a mobile app, or validating in the app data entered via the web.

In response to these needs, MagicPod has developed the "Mixed Platform Testing" feature, enabling unified test execution across mobile and browser environments within a single project.

Eligible Plans

- Enterprise Plan - New Standard Plan 2025

How to Use

Users can start using the feature simply by selecting "Mixed Platform" when creating a new project. Each test case is associated with either a mobile app or a browser (test steps for mobile and browser cannot be mixed within a single test case). Migration from existing mobile or browser-only projects is supported, allowing users to reuse previously created test cases. The feature is available for cloud execution; support for local environments will be rolled out gradually.

Value to Users

This feature enables the integration of mobile and web tests—previously managed and executed separately—into a single project, allowing automation of E2E test scenarios that accurately reflect real user behavior.

For example, a cross-platform scenario such as "register as a user via the mobile app → verify the result in the web admin interface" can now be validated in a single, seamless execution.

Existing MagicPod customers can continue to leverage features such as MagicPod Autopilot and branch functionality within mixed platform scenarios.

Important Notes

- This feature is only available to organizations that have subscriptions to both the Mobile App Plan and the Browser Plan. - A Mixed Platform project consumes two project slots. For example, an organization entitled to create six projects that already has five projects cannot create a Mixed Platform project. - Batch execution on local PCs and execution on external cloud environments are not currently supported in Mixed Platform projects. Support for these will be added gradually.
