## Product Overview
A new product has been added to our long-standing popular 'Trad' series, which features a variety of size variations. It is the '10-rib 70cm carbon rib' and 'large yet lightweight' model, 'Trad-10-Long-Carbon'.
While possessing a smart, tightly-rolled profile, it expands into a massive umbrella with a diameter of approximately 125 cm when opened. This is the largest size among Maehara Koei Shoten's products. It offers peace of mind for tall individuals, those carrying large bags, or when walking with children.
It also serves excellently as a 'doorman's umbrella' for greeting people stepping out of cars.
## An Umbrella Combining Reassuring Size with Beautiful Silhouettes
The slightly shallower tension creates a stylish, urban atmosphere.
Furthermore, the use of carbon ribs* has achieved a lighter weight, making this a highly practical piece. Despite focusing on lightness and size, the beautiful silhouette characteristic of Maehara remains intact.
Please choose from our basic color variations.
*Carbon ribs... Ribs made of carbon fiber. Besides being lightweight, they are wind-resistant and do not rust, making them easy to maintain.
The total length is approximately 96 cm. Its closed appearance is also smart. The beautiful curves when the umbrella is opened symbolize its fine tailoring.
## The Charm of Traditional Flavor and Beautiful Tailoring via High Skills
Naturally, the 'Trad-10-Long-Carbon' also utilizes the 'Made in Japan' umbrella crafting methods that Maehara Koei Shoten insists upon.
Traditional oak material is adopted for the center shaft (middle pole). The rare domestic wooden center shafts are laid to rest as square timber for several years to minimize warping. From the poles carved round from these, craftsmen manually and carefully embed small parts one by one to construct the framework.
It is thoroughly sun-dried. A brass 'wire spring (hajiki)' is embedded into the center shaft.
Fabric is stretched over the resulting framework to tailor it into an umbrella.
Because carbon ribs are flexible, applying strong tension to the fabric is extremely difficult and requires expert skill. The artisans at Maehara Koei Shoten perform cutting, sewing, and finishing at the millimeter level to create an umbrella with a beautiful silhouette without unnecessary wrinkles, both when opened and closed.
Fine parts are finished with hand-sewing, and cutting is the core of the silhouette.
