Movie "Bus ga Iku." Main Cast Audition Decided! Entry Registration Begins!

"Bus ga Iku." is a highly relatable visual work that carefully depicts reality based on real-life experiences in the bus industry. This work, created with the desire to "convey the unknown charm of the industry to many people," is being produced with the cooperation of Kanto Tetsudo Co., Ltd., the largest bus company in Ibaraki Prefecture, with the aim of revitalizing the bus industry. This audition will select one main cast member each for male and female roles in the movie.

【Work Overview】 ◆Story Chinatsu Unno, a 23-year-old rookie bus driver working at Kanto Tetsudo's Mito branch. After graduating from university, she chose to become a bus driver, following in the footsteps of her father she admired as a child. A diligent and reserved individual, she gradually grows with the support of her colleagues and seniors.

Surrounded by the support of many, including a senior she's known since childhood, a caring senior colleague, and fellow employees who deeply love buses, her skills and dedication as a driver eventually open the path to driving highway buses.

What does it mean to be a "good driver"? She contemplates this with every drive, aiming for the ultimate as a professional. A bus driver is both an employee and a craftsman, with endless opportunities for growth. Through the movie, a gentle and powerful story of the "road" will be quietly illuminated in the workplace, for families, for those aspiring to the future, and for the hearts of the audience.

【Awards】 Female Main Cast Audition ・The Grand Prix winner (1st place in the final ranking) will be cast as Chiaki Unno or Akane Sagara. ・Up to one person from 2nd to 7th place in the final ranking will be selected as a Judge's Award winner (may not be awarded). The Judge's Award winner will be cast in a supporting role (role undecided).

Male Main Cast Audition ・The Grand Prix winner (1st place in the final ranking) will be cast as Shota Sugiyama or Masaru Kumada. ・Up to one person from 2nd to 5th place in the final ranking will be selected as a Judge's Award winner (may not be awarded). 【Character Details】 〇Chiaki Unno (うみの ちあき) 18 years old ・Protagonist Chinatsu Unno's younger sister (6 years younger). Graduated high school and will attend university. ・Bright and sociable, contrasting with her calm older sister. ・While cheerful, she is not overly boisterous. ・Fundamentally very serious and pure, she is not the type to cause trouble, and her academic performance and reputation at school are high.

〇Akane Sagara (さがら あかね) 28 years old ・A driver at Kanto Tetsudo's Mito branch. ・Protagonist Chinatsu Unno's senior (6th year at the company). ・Has a big-sisterly, straightforward personality. ・Quiet at work, but possesses high language skills, speaking English and Chinese at a native level.

〇Shota Sugiyama (すぎやま しょうた) 24 years old ・Childhood friend and bus mechanic living next door to the protagonist Chinatsu Unno. ・Bright, energetic, clumsy, and straightforward personality. ・Focused solely on soccer until high school, he even received professional coaching at a highly competitive school.

〇Masaru Kumada (くまた まさる) 32 years old ・Possesses solid knowledge, experience, and skills as a mid-career mechanic. ・Dexterous hands allow him to fix anything, not just buses, and he is a strong and reliable figure. ・Has a hearty personality, loves pachinko, alcohol, women, and cars, but dislikes smoking. ・Appears playful but is actually very serious and meticulous, with a diligent side, holding a Class 1 mechanic's license. While creating a fun atmosphere, he is respected in the workplace.

【Application Guidelines】 ・Must be able to participate in and utilize the judged content and schedule. ・Women aged 16 to 28. ・Men aged 18 to 35. ・Open to individuals belonging to talent agencies or independent. ・Must be able to secure the filming schedule after winning (scheduled for 3-4 days in May 2026).

【Judging Content】 Judging will involve streaming on the online distribution service "Machebara" and an acting audition.

【Audition Schedule】 Advantage Period Entry Deadline (Common for Male and Female) Deadline: Friday, April 10th, 12:00 PM (Noon) Interim entry acceptance until: Monday, April 12th, 12:00 PM (Noon)

The Advantage Period is optional, and entry is also possible from the Final round. There are benefits gained when the Final judging begins, such as a portion of the points earned during the Advantage Period being carried over to the Final.

Male Main Cast Audition Advantage Period: Saturday, April 11th - Wednesday, April 15th Final Entry Deadline: Friday, April 17th, 12:00 PM (Noon) Final Judging: Sunday, April 19th - Wednesday, April 29th Acting Audition: Tuesday, April 21st, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

The venue for the acting audition will be the same for both male and female participants, held at a studio in Shibuya, Tokyo.
