■ Background and Purpose: Why a collaboration between a construction firm and an IT company?

Purchasing a home or relocating is one of life's most significant decisions.

However, the reality is that the information needed for land selection goes beyond just price and location. Crucial information that affects the safety and security of one's life—such as disaster risk, ground stability, surrounding environment, school districts, and lifestyle convenience—is often difficult for the average person to research and compare.

At m-Lab, our team members strongly recognized this issue through their own experiences with purchasing homes and searching for housing due to job transfers.

"The information necessary for choosing a home, one of life's biggest purchases, is as complex as specialized knowledge and not easily accessible." This sense of incongruity became the starting point for this service concept.

When we shared this concern with our business partner, Saiga Sekkei Koumu, we learned that even in the home-building industry, there are many cases where homeowners are forced to make decisions without a full grasp of land-related information. Therefore, by combining the practical knowledge of a construction firm with the technological capabilities of an IT company, we developed "Tochisil" as a service to deliver necessary land selection information in a more understandable way.
