The famous "Shiosai Festival," co-hosted by Minamisanriku Town and Ishinomaki City Kitakami Town, will be held for three days from Sunday, May 3, 2026, to Tuesday, May 5 (public holiday), at the Kamiwarizaki Campground parking lot. This event is a popular Golden Week attraction, offering sales of marine products and gourmet food, as well as enjoyable stage performances. A bustling event over three days What is the "Shiosai Festival"? The Shiosai Festival is a product fair jointly organized by Minamisanriku Town (formerly Shizugawa Town) and Ishinomaki City Kitakami Town, which has been held since before the Great East Japan Earthquake. Many product tents line the venue, selling locally caught seafood and seasonal agricultural products in a direct-from-the-producer format. The event was temporarily suspended due to the earthquake but has been relaunched in a new form, and this year marks its 11th holding. Many visitors from within and outside the prefecture come to this three-day event.
