LINE Yahoo Corporation (hereinafter, LINE Yahoo) has opened a new business hub, the "Akasaka Office," within the Akasaka Trust Tower (Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo). The Akasaka Office is designed to enable employees to achieve high performance and to vitalize cross-organizational co-creation. The full opening of all floors and the commencement of visitor reception are scheduled for May 11, 2026. The head office will remain at the Kioicho Office (Kioicho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo).

In designing the Akasaka Office, an "Office Subcommittee" consisting of representatives from various organizations across the company was established to discuss office concepts and layouts through workshops. Based on these discussions, emphasizing ease of work and communication activation, three keywords were set: [Familiarity/Co-creation (Talk)], [Innovation/Creativity (Boost)], and [Clarity/Comfort (Easy)]. Based on these, the concept "Stay Closer, Go Further" was adopted. "Stay Closer, Go Further" is also the concept used in LINE Yahoo's corporate logo. The idea of creating value starting from human connections is reflected in the design of the Akasaka Office.

With the opening of the Akasaka Office, LINE Yahoo will gradually transition to working from the office three times a week in principle. While leveraging the benefits of remote work, we will promote a hybrid work style that incorporates more in-person communication than ever before. By utilizing the features of the Akasaka Office and further activating unique in-person communication, we aim to encourage cross-departmental collaboration and co-creation.

Features of the Akasaka Office

1. Design to Accelerate Communication

We have devised traffic lines and common spaces within the office area to facilitate incidental encounters and conversations across departments. By designing an environment where employees can naturally interact during their daily movements, we have created a setting that easily generates new ideas and opportunities for collaboration. Furthermore, in addition to spaces that can be used for various purposes, from small meetings to team discussions and workshops, we have also provided open spaces that can be utilized for exchanges and events across departments and locations. By enhancing the value of unique in-person communication, we aim to improve decision-making speed and team cohesion.

"CONNECT STREET," a lounge space located along the traffic line to workstations, where communication arises from incidental encounters among employees.

"CONNECT HUB," a meeting space where people can easily gather, from small to large groups, promoting cross-departmental collaboration and quick decision-making.

"FIELD 20," an open space that can be used for exchanges across departments and locations, as well as for internal events.

2. Environment for Focused Work

The Akasaka Office provides an environment where employees can easily choose where to work according to their tasks. The office area includes spaces for individual focused work, as well as spaces that can be used for projects.

Furthermore, to accommodate diverse work styles, including online meetings, we have equipped the office with adjustable desks and dual monitors, and improved infrastructure such as communication environments. We prioritized making the time spent in the office itself conducive to focused work and comfortable, creating an environment that supports daily productivity.

"STUDY ROOM," an enclosed, quiet office area designed for more focused work than at one's own desk.

"POOL LOUNGE," a refresh space that can be used for a change of pace or power naps.

3. Design Incorporating LINE Yahoo's Identity

The overall office design incorporates LINE Yahoo's brand elements and values. The "62-degree" angle (Innovation Edge)*1 used in the corporate logo is reflected in signs and subtle details of the space, integrating the brand's philosophy throughout the entire environment. Furthermore, in the selection of guide signs, spatial design, and materials, consideration was given to functionality, as well as familiarity and clarity.

In the visitor area, LINE Yahoo characters such as "Brown" and "Kensaku" are placed to create conversation starters and a sense of familiarity with visitors. The aim was to create an office that not only offers comfort as a workplace but also conveys the company's cherished philosophy and culture.
