Background
With the mission to "create infrastructure that makes the entire city like a station," Luup operates the micro-mobility sharing service "LUUP" nationwide. By comprehensively handling electric-assist bicycles, electric kickboards, and other electric, compact, single-person vehicles, and establishing first and last-mile transportation options, we aim to realize a society where everyone can travel comfortably.
In Sapporo City, to contribute to solving transportation challenges such as alleviating chronic traffic congestion, securing last-mile transportation options, and improving the mobility of tourists, the service began operation in July 2025 (*). After the winter closure period, service will resume this year from Wednesday, April 15th, with an increase in the number of ports from 67 last year to 85 to further enhance convenience. We aim to contribute to the further revitalization of the city by providing safe and convenient services to Sapporo citizens and visitors for tourism and business.
Additionally, with the application of the "blue ticket" to bicycles from Wednesday, April 1st, interest in traffic rules is increasing. A safety seminar will be held on the service resumption date to provide an opportunity to re-understand the correct traffic rules for bicycles and electric kickboards (specified small motorized bicycles). Furthermore, to allow more people to experience the convenience and exhilaration of LUUP, a "Unlimited Ride Campaign" will be held exclusively in the Sapporo area.
