“Our operations are difficult to explain to engineers... it’s hard to convey...” — this is a challenge many companies face when refreshing their core systems. Yamashita Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Yamashita”), with a long history in the welfare equipment business, is promoting “AI-first” DX by expanding its engineering team and actively utilizing generative AI. However, the individuality and complexity of on-site operations have become a barrier to engineers' understanding of the business, posing an unignorable risk in core system refresh projects that had been put on hold.

This seminar will introduce Yamashita's DX initiatives that supported its growth and a practical case study of the “conceptual modeling” approach applying Enterprise Architecture (EA) by LTS, which was adopted to mitigate these risks. — What value did generative AI create as a “thinking partner”? — What are the key points to achieving fundamental business understanding and visualization? — How was the organization and structuring of ambiguous concepts achieved in a short period? Two project promotion managers from Yamashita and LTS will explain, sharing insights from their on-site experience.

Speakers

Junichiro Saito (LTS Co., Ltd., Digital Business Division, EA Department Manager)

Started his career as an engineer, and joined LTS in 2024 after working for a foreign consulting firm. Currently serves as the manager of the EA Department. With experience as both a consultant and an engineer, he has supported IT strategy, enterprise architecture formulation, and company-wide data strategy formulation for many years.

Yasushige Michikoshi (Yamashita Co., Ltd., DX Promotion Department, DX Senior Manager)

Graduated from Kobe University Faculty of Economics, obtained a Master's in MOT from Tokyo Institute of Technology, and completed an MBA-IB at University of Tsukuba. Starting with enterprise system development at a Kansai Electric Power Group SIer, he promoted business transformation and DX for major telecommunications companies, among others, for six years at PwC Consulting. At Daiichi Sankyo, he led the transformation of business processes across the entire value chain and the establishment of a global CoE in the DX Planning Department. He assumed his current position in 2025. At Yamashita, which aims to be an in-home care platformer, he is responsible for conceiving next-generation home care systems utilizing AI agents and building a DX portfolio management system. His consistent theme across industries is the visualization of business structures and the execution of transformation.
