The third performance of Fantasy Magic Space Shin Bibox, titled 'Heaven-Soaring Heart – The Tale of Matsuzumisai Tenkatsu,' will be held from Friday, October 9, 2026, to Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Asakusa Kukyoku (2-16-2 Asakusa, Taito City, Tokyo, 2nd floor of Asakusa K Club).

Matsuzumisai Tenkatsu was a legendary magician who flourished during the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras. She is an indispensable figure in the history of Japanese magic and was hailed as the 'Queen of Magic' for her dazzling performances.

She reigned at the top of Japan's entertainment industry with stage productions resembling revues, incorporating not only magic but also theater, dance, and live music.

However, after Tenkatsu's retirement, stage performances centered on magic gradually declined in Japan and are now almost nonexistent.

Shun Shibuya, a young magician, has been planning theater performances since his teens, presenting dance-integrated acts and theatrical productions that have attracted new audiences.

In 2024, he founded the performance unit Fantasy Magic Space Shin Bibox to explore new forms of magical expression.

For this production, he has invited Kan Morihito, a leading figure in Japan's underground theater scene from Shinjuku Ryozanpaku, to direct, creating a wondrous fairy-tale world inspired by beloved global children's stories.

This time, the legacy of Matsuzumisai Tenkatsu—now rarely discussed—will be woven through theater, dance, and magic.

Based on historical materials, many of the magic tricks she mastered will also be recreated on stage, bringing legendary illusions back to life across time.

With the mission of elevating magic—a wonderful art form accessible to all regardless of nationality, gender, or age—into a respected theatrical art and reviving it as a major form of entertainment in Japan, this new challenge begins now.

Profile of Shun Shibuya

Born on May 12, 1998.

Discovered magic at age 5 and made his stage debut as an elementary school student.

Began dancing at age 11 and performed as a dancer on numerous TV programs and major fashion shows.

Later developed a unique performance style blending dance and magic, winning multiple international competitions both in Japan and abroad.

In 2014, he became the youngest Japanese ever to perform for a week at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, the mecca of magic, showcasing his international acclaim.

He actively explores diverse forms of magical expression, performing in theater productions and solo live tours. His achievements were recognized in 2018 when he received the Hope Award from the Japan Magic Association, a public interest incorporated foundation.

In recent years, he has expanded his activities to include theatrical performances and TV commercials.

His delicate, beautiful, and sometimes dynamic stage performances continue to captivate audiences.
