I was nervous because this is my first time challenging comedy, but the atmosphere at rehearsals is bright and fun!
I find it hilarious how the cast members, who play unique characters, bring out their individuality, and I'm laughing every day.
I hope you will look forward to this AI action comedy created with wonderful colleagues!
[Manabu Kumazawa's Comment]
The highlight of 'Code:True' is how the protagonist, Makoto, suddenly transforms during the story.
There are many scenes where you'll find yourself exclaiming, "He was cool just a moment ago, why is he doing that now?!" and laughing out loud.
I will do my best to make everyone laugh and enjoy themselves, so please come and experience the world of 'Code:True' at the theater.

Since rehearsals started, I've been struggling a bit with unfamiliar lines, but I'm determined to understand them well and make them my own!
I'll work hard on the cool action and funny parts through practice so that everyone can leave with a smile!

The rehearsal space is always filled with warm air and laughter, and it's a series of new challenges!
Because it's a play where quick thinking and teamwork are crucial, we are pursuing "funniness" with utmost seriousness!
Please look forward to it!

■ Synopsis
The protagonist, Makoto Asahina, was once a detective.
However, during an investigation, he inadvertently caused the death of the dangerous criminal Zetto Dojima. Although it was in self-defense, this incident led Makoto to resign from the police force.
Currently, Makoto runs a detective agency, operating like a jack-of-all-trades, with "Lumina," an AI developed by his friend, as his partner.
As they solve cases and handle requests together, Makoto gradually develops special feelings for Lumina.
"Falling in love with an AI is impossible"—despite warnings from those around him, Makoto's feelings could not be stopped.
Around this time, an android so sophisticated that it's indistinguishable from a human is developed.
Lumina is installed into this android, gaining a "body."
With a physical form, Makoto's feelings intensify.
However, societal opposition to AI rights and the relationship between humans and AI is growing.
The anti-AI faction, led by the religious group "Breath of Life" headed by politician Michiaki Mikoshiba, considers the relationship between humans and AI taboo, and begins to harass and attack Makoto and Lumina.
Amidst this, a man appears before Makoto.
He looks different. However, inside, he is undoubtedly the dangerous criminal Zetto Dojima, whom Makoto had previously caused the death of.
This is an android equipped with Dojima's personality data.
Makoto must race against time to thwart the conspiracy of Dojima and the person behind him.
At the same time, he must also find an answer regarding his relationship with Lumina.
Can AI truly become beings equal to humans?
Can love blossom between humans and AI?
And is that love—emotion, or code (program)?
This is an action-rom-com that depicts a love story between humans and AI, seasoned with plenty of comedy.
