LocationMind Inc. (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Naoki Kiritani, hereinafter "LocationMind") has announced further functional updates to the "Tourism Map" within the Regional Economy and Society Analysis System "RESAS (Resas)", which utilizes LocationMind's human flow data. These enhancements will enable users to grasp the status of tourist destinations and surrounding areas more intuitively and smoothly.

In conjunction with this, LocationMind will launch the "Mesh-based x Daily Visit Trend Dashboard" for users seeking more in-depth data analysis beyond the regional information provided by RESAS, allowing for analysis of daily visit trends on a mesh-by-mesh basis.

Furthermore, to immediately leverage these updated data environments in regional revitalization efforts, we will hold a "Special Online Seminar for Mayors" on July 13 (Mon) for mayors, local government officials, and DMO representatives.

Features of the RESAS Functional Update

<Feature 1> Centralized tourism data for more intuitive understanding of regional conditions Previously, when considering regional tourism policies, it was necessary to consult multiple data sources and search for required information depending on the objective. This update adds an expanded range of tourist destination categories displayed on the map, a ranking function for population concentration by mesh, and a tourist destination search function. This makes it easier for local government and DMO staff to intuitively grasp the conditions of tourist destinations and surrounding areas within the region.

<Feature 2> Banner linkage to a site where daily visit trends by mesh can be understood In tourist destination analysis, banner linkage has been added to a site where daily visit trends can be confirmed from the tourist destination map and ranking functions. This makes it easier to understand changes in visit trends due to regional events, tourism campaigns, and seasonal factors. By comparing visit status before and after implementing measures, it can be used to improve future measures and consider target areas.

Supporting more precise decision-making through the integrated use of "RESAS" and the "Mesh-based x Daily Visit Trend Dashboard"

While utilizing the new "RESAS" for understanding the current regional situation, LocationMind is also launching an open data dashboard that enables analysis of mesh-based x daily visit trends for those who require more detailed data analysis.

This dashboard allows users to pinpoint and grasp days with high annual tourist numbers on a mesh basis, which can be utilized for understanding current conditions and verifying the effectiveness of measures, such as:

[Main Usage Examples]

Verification of Measure Effectiveness (Understanding Before and After): By comparing the trend in the number of visitors before and after key dates such as facility opening/renewal dates, event dates, or campaign periods, current conditions and actual customer acquisition effects can be verified.

Identification of Success Factors (Application to Next Actions): Starting from days with a sharp increase in visitors, by analyzing events and initiatives implemented during that period, hints for future policy planning and project consideration can be obtained.

By combining the analysis of visits, accommodations, and consumption using RESAS "Tourism Map" with the daily trend analysis using LocationMind "Mesh-based x Daily Visit Trend Dashboard," we will provide more robust support for the planning and effectiveness verification of tourism policies by local governments and DMOs.
