'Sogetsusho' follows Taira no Tomomori, the final commander-in-chief of the Heike clan, as he carries the shadow of his father and reaches the end of his journey marked by vows and loss.
In the late Heian period, the Taira clan, once the most prosperous of the warrior families, commanded great power in the capital under their leader, Taira no Kiyomori. Young warrior Taira no Tomomori, favored by his father, is raised alongside his brother Shigehira and cousin Noritsune as the future of the clan. Kiyomori's absolute trust and expectations instill a strong destiny in Tomomori: 'Never betray your father.' However, as Kiyomori falls ill, the clan's glory begins to slip away like sand. Eventually, they reach the fateful shores of Dan-no-ura.
Under the pale moon that waxes and wanes, this is a tale of the end where glory, pride, love, and parting intersect.
