## Introducing LR's Products

### "Hakodate Anchovy Project"
In recent years, in Hakodate, the "squid city," sardines were caught in fixed nets used for squid fishing, but they could not be sold due to a lack of food culture, leading to a decline in the livelihoods of fishermen and those who made a living from squid business.
With the desire to "just help those in need in front of us. We want to be of assistance," the project was launched in 2021 in collaboration with fishermen, wholesalers, processing companies, employment support facilities, retailers, restaurants, government, and research institutions.

- Hakodate Nam Pla

- In 2022, the world's first sardine anchovy, "Hakodate Anchovy," was launched.
(Ingredients: Sardines from near Hakodate, salt, rice oil)
- In 2023, "Hakodate Anchovy Sauce," a convenient sauce, was launched with the desire to make Hakodate Anchovy easier to enjoy.
- In 2025, "Hakodate Nam Pla," utilizing the fish sauce extract, a byproduct of making Hakodate Anchovy, was launched.

Through these three product lines, the "Hakodate Anchovy Series," sardines are utilized almost without waste, allowing them to be enjoyed deliciously.
This initiative, a Fisheries-Welfare collaboration model that highlights quality taste, nutrition, and local unused/underutilized resources, and creates local employment, has garnered much empathy and received numerous awards, also being featured in the media. Additionally, the product packaging uses Hakodate's topography as a motif and is very popular as a Hokkaido souvenir. Sales have been steadily strong, to the extent that production cannot keep up, with distribution at airports within Hokkaido, commercial facilities/restaurants in the Southern Hokkaido area, and recently, sales also started at Tokyo Fermentation Department.
