LINE WORKS Corp. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takeshi Shimaoka), provider of the business communication tool "LINE WORKS" and various AI products, announces that starting Wednesday, April 1st, it has begun sales of the AI voice monitoring phone service "NAVER CareCall" provided by its affiliate NAVER Cloud Japan Corp.
**■ About "NAVER CareCall"**
"NAVER CareCall" is a high-precision AI voice monitoring phone service provided by NAVER Cloud Japan. Targeting elderly individuals who require care, the AI automatically makes regular phone calls, offering well-being checks, health monitoring, and psychological support through natural, human-like conversations.
Since users (the elderly/those being monitored) can respond using just a standard telephone, they can easily use the service without the need to learn how to operate new, dedicated devices.

**■ Proof of Concept Conducted in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture**
Prior to this official launch, NAVER Cloud (the Korean parent company of NAVER Cloud Japan) and Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, signed a business agreement last July. With the cooperation of local welfare providers in Izumo City, the effectiveness of the service was tested over approximately 9 months with about 70 elderly residents. Izumo City is experiencing a super-aging society, with people aged 65 and over accounting for 30% of its population, resulting in a severe shortage of personnel to meet growing nursing care needs.
The verification results showed a high level of satisfaction with the service, with users providing feedback such as, "I felt encouraged when I was feeling down," "I felt secure knowing someone was watching over me," and "It is good to have more opportunities to talk." Furthermore, care managers commented, "We were able to quickly grasp when a user had fallen or gotten injured, allowing us to respond promptly," confirming the service's effectiveness on the front lines.
An interview video with welfare providers and users has been published on the LINE WORKS YouTube channel.

**■ Background of Provision**
With Japan's declining birthrate and rapidly aging population, it is estimated that by 2050, the elderly aged 65 and over will account for approximately one-third of the population. Consequently, the importance of monitoring and providing lifestyle support for the elderly is increasing every year.
On the other hand, welfare providers who deliver this care are facing severe labor shortages, with many struggling to secure personnel, creating a situation where they cannot adequately perform necessary tasks.
