Life Design Kabaya Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Kentaro Kubota / Headquarters: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture) grand opened the "Hiroshima Nishi Exhibition Hall," a residential exhibition hall built with the original "CLT Hybrid Construction Method" adopted for its detached house product "CLT MASTERS," and the "Kōzō Lab." (Structure Lab.), an experiential showroom for homes, on the same site in Niga, Saeki Ward, Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, on Saturday, March 14.

An opening ceremony was held on the grand opening day, including a ribbon-cutting.

Seven sales staff have been assigned to the Hiroshima Nishi Exhibition Hall, aiming for 36 orders within one year of opening.

At this exhibition hall, customers considering a home can experience not only the appeal of the completed living space but also the structure and performance of the home. By establishing a residential exhibition hall where they can concretely envision their lifestyle and a showroom where they can learn about the "invisible parts" of a home through experience on the same site, we have created an environment where they can understand a home more three-dimensionally.

Hiroshima Nishi Exhibition Hall

This is a residential exhibition hall built with our original "CLT Hybrid Construction Method," which is adopted for our detached house product "CLT MASTERS." This construction method realizes an open living-dining-kitchen area where families naturally gather. At the same time, by strategically placing meticulous spaces such as a utility room, study, and closet, the design achieves both openness and ease of living.

Furthermore, the kitchen and washroom areas within this exhibition hall feature products from our private brand "CRAFT plus." Combining design and practicality, the space is not only aesthetically pleasing but also designed with daily living comfort in mind.

Hiroshima Nishi Exhibition Hall Kōzō Lab.

This is an experiential showroom conceptualized to help visitors understand the "invisible parts" of wooden architecture by actually experiencing them through videos and models.

This showroom is our second "Kōzō Lab.," following the first one opened in Okayama City, and it is the first to open in Hiroshima Prefecture. The first Kōzō Lab. has been well-received by many customers, and this new facility in Hiroshima Prefecture has been developed as a new base where people can more closely experience the structure and performance of homes.

Furthermore, the second-floor flooring of the "Kōzō Lab." uses only timber from Hiroshima Prefecture. By creating a space using local timber, the showroom not only leverages the warmth and texture of wood but also considers the utilization of regional resources.

About the "CLT Hybrid Construction Method" adopted for the detached house product "CLT MASTERS"

The "CLT Hybrid Construction Method" is Life Design Kabaya's original construction method for detached houses, incorporating minister-certified octagonal CLT shear walls into the bracing sections of traditional wooden post-and-beam construction.

CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) is a wood building material used in medium to high-rise buildings such as condominiums and commercial facilities overseas. It was considered over-spec for residential use, offering little cost benefit. Therefore, Life Design Kabaya Co., Ltd. developed its unique CLT construction method suitable for residences. In full-scale shaking table tests, the method withstood 70 consecutive seismic waves of magnitudes 5 to 7, with no structural damage observed without retightening hold-down metal fittings, achieving "a house that can continue to win against earthquakes and be lived in continuously."

Good Design Award, iF Design Award, Wood Design Award Recipient

The "Regional Circular Housing Supply Chain CLT Hybrid Construction Method" project received the "2025 Good Design Award" (operated by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion), the "iF Design Award 2026" (hosted by iF International Forum Design GmbH), and the "Wood Design Award 2025" (hosted by the Japan Wood Design Association).
