Life Design Kabaya completes construction of 'ETENA Nakasendo-Nishi,' a three-story wooden designer rental apartment in Kita-ku, Okayama City.

Life Design Kabaya Co., Ltd. (President: Kentaro Kubota; Headquarters: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture) announced that it served as the construction manager and contractor for 'ETENA Nakasendo-Nishi' (North and South buildings), a newly built three-story wooden designer rental apartment complex in Tanaka, Kita-ku, Okayama City, developed by Kowa Estate Co., Ltd. (President: Tadao Kurumi; Headquarters: Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture). The building was handed over on Friday, March 13, 2026.

About ETENA Nakasendo-Nishi: ETENA Nakasendo-Nishi consists of two newly built three-story wooden buildings, North and South, on the same site. By using JAS-certified structural timber produced in Okayama Prefecture, the project ensures reliable quality while realizing a sustainable building that makes effective use of the region's abundant forest resources.

The design was led by Takashi Suzuki, President of the award-winning Tsuzuki Office Co., Ltd. In addition to an exterior design featuring uniquely shaped windows, the interior utilizes solid wood flooring to create a warm and comfortable space. The extensive use of sliding doors allows for flexible spatial partitioning to suit family lifestyles, achieving an efficient living environment. It is a wooden designer rental apartment that combines comfort and adaptability, allowing residents to live long-term while feeling the changes of the four seasons.

North Building: The first floor consists of two retail units, and the second and third floors consist of 10 rental units (2LDK). The total floor area is 914.16m2. South Building: Consists of 10 rental units, including 2LDK (6 units) and maisonette-type 3LDK (4 units). The total floor area is 865.96m2.

Life Design Kabaya's In-house Carpenters: In this project, the company's in-house carpenters gathered to perform the wooden construction work. Currently, the company employs 23 in-house carpenters, including Vietnamese trainees. The first generation of these carpenters has reached their 10th year, and many are active in various fields beyond residential construction. By leveraging the know-how and knowledge of 'wooden construction' cultivated from development to construction, the company aims to promote wooden construction one-stop for all types of buildings, including non-residential and special architecture.
