This showroom is built using the company's originally developed "CLT Hybrid Construction Method," which is employed in the "CLT MASTERS" detached housing product launched in October 2024. By intentionally leaving parts of the structural frame exposed, the showroom displays elements that are typically hidden within walls. This will be the third "Kōzō Lab." in Japan, following those in Okayama and Hiroshima Prefectures, and the first to be established in the Shikoku region. About the "CLT Hybrid Construction Method" used in the "CLT MASTERS" detached housing product
The "CLT Hybrid Construction Method" is an original method developed by Life Design Kabaya for detached houses, which incorporates ministerial-certified octagonal CLT load-bearing walls into the bracing sections of traditional wooden frame construction. CLT is a wood-based building material used internationally for medium-to-high-rise buildings such as condominiums and commercial facilities. Because it is often over-specified and less cost-effective for residential use, Life Design Kabaya developed its own CLT method suitable for homes. In full-scale shaking table tests, the structure showed no damage after 70 consecutive inputs of seismic waves ranging from intensity 5 to 7, without the need to retighten hold-down hardware, realizing "a house that can continue to withstand earthquakes and continue to be lived in."
