Lattice Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Hiroshi Toritani; Website: https://www.lattice.co.jp/; hereinafter: Lattice) will begin offering the "PMI Navigator series" as a dedicated 3D drawing package product for its 3D data utilization software "XVL Studio." As the first installment, "XVL Studio PMI Navigator Basic" (hereinafter, PMI Navigator Basic/PNB) will be released on May 22, 2026. PMI Navigator Basic will also be exhibited at the "Manufacturing DX x 3D Seminar 2026" hosted by Lattice on the same day.

In traditional operations using "3D models + 2D drawings," challenges included the occurrence of unnecessary work such as transcribing 3D data to 2D, inconsistencies between 3D and 2D due to errors, and re-transcription from 2D drawings to Excel forms, all of which were non-value-added tasks. In contrast, "3D drawings" allow dimensions and geometric tolerances to be directly attached and aggregated to 3D data, enabling end-to-end operations starting from 3D data without the need for re-transcription to 2D.
PMI Navigator Basic is an entry-level product for downstream processes, packaging functions to realize end-to-end operations, such as viewing 3D drawings and utilizing reports (3D reports) generated from them.
Point 1. Reliably and comprehensively transmit 3D drawing information to downstream processes The primary role of drawings is to accurately convey design information to downstream processes. As the transition to 3D drawings progresses, there is a demand for mechanisms that enable downstream processes to accurately understand design intent and prevent oversight. PMI Navigator Basic provides a highly requested PMI list function.
By displaying PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) such as dimensions and geometric tolerances in a list format, it is possible to comprehensively grasp the design information contained in 3D drawings without omissions. This significantly improves the accuracy and efficiency of verification work in downstream processes such as manufacturing and quality control.
Point 2. Direct 3D report utilization achieved without 2D conversion Conventionally, 3D drawings were rarely used directly in downstream processes; they were generally converted to 2D, such as by outputting or transcribing to Excel forms. As a result, the task of transcribing design information that could be completed with 3D data to 2D occurred, leading to unnecessary man-hours and information transmission loss. These were significant challenges.
PMI Navigator Basic supports "3D reports" that utilize 3D drawings as 3D data, realizing operations without 2D conversion. By directly referencing and verifying the PMI attached to 3D data, transcription work is eliminated, and design information can be passed to downstream processes while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
Point 3. End-to-end digital process from design to manufacturing and quality control PMI Navigator Basic connects processes from design to manufacturing and quality control end-to-end with 3D data. This smooths information sharing between departments and supports improved operational efficiency and quality at the現場 (genba - actual workplace). It also contributes to promoting DX in manufacturing by supporting the establishment of business processes centered on 3D drawings.
Future Following this first release, the second installment of the PMI Navigator series is planned for autumn 2026. Lattice will promote the transformation of business processes centered on 3D drawings, with the "PMI Navigator series" as its core. By ensuring reliable transmission of design information, enhancing 3D data utilization without 2D conversion, and realizing end-to-end connectivity from design to manufacturing and quality control, Lattice will strongly support DX in the manufacturing industry.
PMI Navigator Basic will be demonstrated at the "Manufacturing DX x 3D Seminar 2026" hosted by Lattice on Friday, May 22, 2026 (Venue: JP Tower Hall & Conference, Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo).
