Eliminating 'Isolation' from Sakai: Bringing Nationally Rare 'Nighttime Safe Spaces' and 'Learning Environments' to the Next Generation – Aiming for Continuation and Expansion of Senboku BASE

Shijuku Free School Racina (operating in Sakai City and Tondabayashi City, Osaka Prefecture) concluded its crowdfunding campaign, which began on February 1st, on March 29th. Thanks to the enthusiastic support from everyone, we achieved a target attainment rate of 101% and a total donation amount of 5,075,000 yen.

Our crowdfunding challenge, which started on February 1st, was successfully achieved on March 29th. We received a total of 5,075,000 yen in support from 275 individuals. Thank you very much. ・Operation of Homework Cafe and Yonayona High School (nighttime safe space for high school age students)

・Work experience at Denden Cafe, etc.

・Spreading understanding in society about school refusal and child poverty. By engaging in these activities, we aim to broaden children's learning opportunities and connect many children to learning.

We, NPO Shijuku Free School Racina, have been continuously supporting children who refuse to attend school and those with developmental characteristics, based in Tondabayashi City and Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. Since our establishment in 2016, for the increasing number of children refusing to attend school, we have developed multifaceted projects including three free school locations, an online cram school, a correspondence high school, and a local community space "Senboku BASE." What we aim for is "a society where individuals choose their own learning and envision their own future." We provide diverse learning opportunities so that children can learn at their own pace and envision their future in a safe environment.
